I had poured over the various reviews and it came down to either a machine learning offering from 'Sense' or 'PWRview' (Generac) which use just two clamps on the mains or individual clamp circuit monitoring in addition to the two mains from either IotaWatt or this product from Emporia. The sense energy monitor and the ShellyEM are both very capable smart energy monitors with a slightly different intended users. This video shows how to insta. My test confirms this, although I havnt accumulated many kwh, I still would see the ecompany meter saying I use more than what the iotawatt says I’m using if the ecompany meter actually reads the backfeed as power we pay for. Following on from work started over two years ago with Cydynni Trystan was tasked with a one off shop-front display project. This was intended as a high quality display screen showing an emonCMS dashboard with the real-time output of the local hydro-energy project.
The shop is based in Bethesda, North Wales, and serves as an information point on the community energy project, to celebrate it’s recent success.
Daniel Bates helped design and build the laser-cut stand using Sketchup and Inkscape, having the 6mm plywood laser cut with the help of John at the Bangor University FabLab.
